LAHORE X ANARKALI

architecture

Anarkali was a famous courtesan and dancer during the Mughal era, known for her beauty and grace.

She fell in love with Prince Salim, the son of Emperor Akbar, but their relationship was forbidden by the royal court.

According to the famous Mughal legend, Anarkali was punished by Akbar, and her story became one of the most tragic love stories in South Asian history.

Her name means “pomegranate blossom,” and the historic Anarkali Bazaar in Lahore is believed to be named after her, keeping her memory alive even today.
